A shop is never
just a shop.
In the 1960s, our Daadaji opened a small cloth hatti — "shop", in Punjabi — and ran it by one rule: every woman who walks in is family. For sixty years, his shelves taught our town what colour feels like.
When he left us two years ago, the shutters nearly closed for good. So we — his grandson and granddaughter-in-law — left our bank desks, picked up his keys, and gave the hatti his name and our promise. Every kurti here is finished by artisan families we know personally, and checked the way he would have — thread by thread.
